The program for Fungi Cosmology is built around the three research trips to the Amazon in Spring 2023, to Patagonia in Spring 2024 and lastly to the Swiss Alps in September 2024. They are each hosted and organised by the curators from the connecting region and their associated teams.
These research trips are the moments when the participants and the curators from the three different regions are coming together to do research in the field. During these trips the participants - the artists and scientists - are engaging in a curated program that consists of expeditions, lectures, conferences, and guest speakers in order to get to know the local geographical and research context and most importantly the local fungi.
In between the trips, there are digital Fungi Cosmology meetings in order to keep evaluating, documenting and assessing the process and progress of the research project. This allows us also to stay engaged with the questions that come out of this three year research as well as this complex long-term collaboration.
